The increasing need for dedicated electrophysiology facilities is challenging many Trusts where Electrophysiology (EP) procedure volume has been constrained by Cath Lab time, the availability of the latest equipment or the availability of staff. Regent's Park works with hospital managers and electrophysiologists to meet short-term capacity constraints and develop long-term, integrated solutions.
For example, we can offer dedicated short-term and medium-term state-of-the-art EP facilities through our specially designed modular EP Cath Labs. We can also provide staffing and training in this under-resourced area.
Other benefits include:
- Increased NHS capacity to meet waiting list targets.
- Additional EP private patient income.
- Expansion into EP services where they are currently unavailable.
In summary, our Heart Clinics provide patient-focused care delivered by heart experts in quality surroundings.
Case Study
The John Radcliffe Hospital (JR) was struggling to meet its waiting list target in electrophysiology due to rising patient demand and a shortage of dedicated EP Cath Lab facilities. Regent's Park entered an agreement with the JR and Oxford electrophysiologists to establish two new EP labs at the hospital.
These labs enabled NHS and private patient procedures to be scheduled more efficiently while providing a safer, higher quality clinical environment for patients.
The JR is now able to meet its waiting list targets, has increased its private patient revenue and has additional capacity to take on EP waiting list work for other Trusts.
